BSB: Mossey seeking confidence boost after Brands Hatch troubles
JG Speedfit Kawasaki rider Luke Mossey was looking like his old self through the Free Practice and Qualifying sessions at Brands Hatch for the sixth round of the BSB season, only to struggle in the races with grip issues, forcing the 2017 Brands Indy double winner to take away just 3 points from the meeting.
“I’m disappointed with how the weekend went as I felt so good and confident on the bike during practice and qualifying.I was hoping to secure two strong results, but I really struggled today with grip in the hot conditions, I just couldn’t get the tyres to work with my riding style. The front end for me had the least grip and I crashed out of race one because of that,” said the Hertfordshire rider.
Mossey hasn’t had a podium in British Superbikes since race one at Knockhill, back in 2017.
“I am gutted as I just need some luck and a couple of strong results to give me a confidence boost. I hope at Thruxton we can start to build on something and get the results that we deserve.”
Mossey heads to Thruxton, the circuit at which his 2017 Showdown campaign started to unravel after a huge free practice three crash along the start and finish straight. Luke is now 17th in the championship and 64 points from the Showdown placings.
