
Moto3: 2020 Grid Filled Out Before the New Year
The grid for the 2020 Moto3 World Championship is now complete, with new teams and new faces entering the paddock for the upcoming season.
One of the biggest changes for 2020 sees Herve Poncheral step down from Moto2 into the lightweight class, continuing his collaboration with KTM to form the Red Bull KTM Tech 3 team fielding Ayumu Sasaki and CEV star Deniz Oncu.
As well as this, 2020 also sees a returning manufacturer, with Husqvarna providing the FR250GP machine to Alonso Lopez, Romano Fenati and the MAX Racing Team.
CEV Champion Jeremy Alcoba steps up onto the World scene after a couple of stand-in rides throughout 2019 along with his impressive season in the Junior World Championship put the 18-year-old on the market for 2020.
Britons John McPhee remains with the Petronas Sprinta Moto3 team for 2020, as the Scotsman aims for a title attack after claiming the teams’ debut win in Le Mans earlier this year.
Finally, we have lost the three championship contenders from 2019, with 2019 World Champion Lorenzo Dalla Porta, 2019 runner up Aron Canet and third placeman Marcos Ramirez all moving up to the Moto2 World Championship.

The 2020 season kicks off in Qatar, however, the Moto3 class will have a few days testing at both Jerez and Valencia in the coming months, before wrapping up the winter testing period under the lights in Qatar.
