F1 Driver Ratings: Eifel GP 2020
Lewis Hamilton equalled Michael Schumacher’s record of 91 Formula 1 victories by winning the Eifel Grand Prix at the Nurburgring.
He extends his championship lead to 69 points over teammate Valtteri Bottas after Bottas was forced to retire due to a power unit issue.
Max Verstappen finished second whilst Daniel Ricciardo scored Renault’s first podium since Malaysia 2011 in an intense battle for third place.
As always, the order below is the finishing order of the Grand Prix.

The top ten have all got very good ratings from me this week and then the non-points finishers were all sub-par to say the least.
Daniel Ricciardo and Sergio Perez drove nicely in their battle for the podium and Lando Norris was going well too before his reliability issues.
Romain Grosjean gets a big thumbs up from me for his performance to double Haas’ points total and it comes at a crucial time of the season when numerous drivers are in contention for the Haas seat next year.
Antonio Giovinazzi had his best weekend of the year. He got into Q2 for the first time this season and managed to hold off Sebastian Vettel to get 10th. Without the safety car it could have been 8th for Giovinazzi and it was a much needed result for the Italian.
Alexander Albon had a very clumsy race to say the least and I feel he is out of his depth in the Red Bull.
Albon is arguably the worst driver to have driven a top two car this century and he simply has to go. The gaps to Max Verstappen are not reducing and it would be better for him to go back to AlphaTauri and hope to replicate what Pierre Gasly has done this year.
