BSB: Josh Day confirmed in British Supersport with Astro JJR Triumph
Astro JJR Triumph have extended their lineup to three riders in the Supersport class, as the three-time Ducati TriOptions Cup winner joins their ranks.
After dominating the Ducati TriOptions Cup in the 2021 season Day has moved up to compete in the Quattro Plant British Supersport Championship, the Astro JJR Triumph team will give Day the opportunity to challenge for the title.
Day joins the team running under his sponsor Host-it Racing’s joint banner on a factory backed Street Triple RS.
Day said: “This couldn’t be any better for me; Supersport is really where I want to be. I feel like I have unfinished business in the championship and I’m really looking forward to riding a Triumph again.
“I’m really grateful to Stuart and James from Astro JJR with support from Triumph, and I would also like to personally thank Andrew and Host-It for once again believing in me. I am really looking forward to working with the team and the other great riders they have on board – here’s to a great year.”
Astro JJR Triumph co-Principle Stuart Tromans commented: “Josh will be a strong addition to the team. His experience, attitude and all-round ability will benefit his own championship challenge as well as the set up and development of the new generation Triumph Street Triple RS. With Josh alongside Shane Richardson and Rhys Irwin, our triple threat for 2022 is ready!”
