
Moto3: Riccardo Rossi signs for CIP Green Power
Riccardo Rossi has signed for the CIP Green Power team for 2024.
Riccardo Rossi will move team next season, joining the CIP Green Power KTM team for the 2024 Moto3 season. Rossi will enter his sixth season in the Moto3 class, joining the established CIP team.
The Italian signed to race for the CFMOTO-PruestelGP team in 2024, racing alongside Xavier Artigas. This deal was signed in September, but the PruestelGP team would unexpectedly pull out of the Championship in November.
In 2024, Riccardo Rossi will return to KTM machinery, returning to the Austrian manufacturer for the first time since 2021. His last year onboard a KTM was with the BOE team, where he claimed his best result in the class. Finishing third position at the French Grand Prix, Rossi claimed his first podium at Grand Prix level.
He later moved to the SIC58 Squadra Corse Honda team in 2022, spending two years with the team. His second podium came in Thailand for round 17 of the MotoGP World Championship.
The season will start in March for the traditional opening round setting in Qatar at the Lusail International Circuit. He will join Noah Dettwiler next season, who will race in his first full season in Moto3.
Riccardo Rossi said: “I’m very happy to have signed with CIP Green Power and to return to KTM for 2024. Last season I suffered a lot with Honda, because KTM was faster on some race tracks.
“I’m also happy with the new Pirelli tires that I tried in Barcelona tests, and this is further motivation for me. I can’t wait to start the 2024 season and I will work hard in the pre-season, in order to be able to be competitive from the first race.”
Alain Bronec, Team owner added: “We are very happy to welcome Ricardo to our team for this new season in Moto3. He’s a rider who has already set his highlights in this category, and we’re going to do everything we can to help him continue to progress. I have a feeling that he can put in some great performances this year.”
