Are BT about to sell BT Sport?

BT are rumoured to be in talks with potential investors like Amazon, Disney, Dazn and others according to a bombshell article published in the Telegraph.

The newspaper claims that BT have already hired an investment bank to explore a partial sale of BT Sport while it re-focuses its core business of being a telecoms & broadband company.

After a tough year for all broadcasters because of COVID, it’s hardly surprising that BT might want to cut BT Sport and run away from some of the obscene prices they paid together with Sky and Amazon for top football rights.

Motorsport fans will no doubt be alarmed at what might come of the things that BT Sport currently broadcasts like MotoGP, The World Rally Championship and World RX

If BT Sport does crash and burn all talk will be about who might pick up the rights to MotoGP in the UK.

The Telegraph says that all parties have so far declined to comment on its article.
