BRDC F3 Race Winner Mahadik Returns with Double R
If their flurry of British F4 driver announcements were not enough, Double R Racing have made it four drivers in three days with Krishnaraaj Mahadik returning to the BRDC British F3 Championship.
The Indian is well-known within the paddock, competing throughout 2016 with the Chris Dittmann Racing squad. Finances limited his competition in 2017, though still made two appearances for Double R towards the end of the year.
During his returning weekend at Brands Hatch, Mahadik surprised many, hitting the ground running and winning the reverse grid race two event. He finished in the top eight for all six of his races, skipping the final round to focus on a full 2018 campaign.
First graduating to cars in 2015, having already secured karting titles in his native India, he finished third in the national Formula BMW series before making his move to the UK.
“I am delighted to be racing with Double R for the 2018 season. We performed really well together last year and I feel we have unfinished business in British F3, I want to build on that!
“We are all really looking forward to a successful season and I can’t wait to hit the track. I am feeling focused and on top of my game and I know I have the best group of guys around me. At Double R I feel part of the family and, together, I feel like we can achieve great things this year.” – Krishnaraaj Mahadik
He’s also a member of Velose Sports Management, hoping to return to the top with Double R.
“Everyone at the team is very happy to see Krish back with us for 2018, he did a fantastic job on his first outing with us last year at Brands Hatch – to win on his first weekend with Double R really was a perfect start to the relationship.”
“British F3 is always super competitive but we know Krish has the capability of challenging at the front and with the experience he’s gained in F3 over the last couple of years, it should be a strong season together.” – Anthony ‘Boyo’ Hieatt.
Mahadik would have joined Linus Lundqvist and Dev Gore, but the latter appears to have quietly been dropped, with the team set to announce a third driver soon.
Double R had tested on Tuesday with three cars, though it is unknown whether Gore was in the Tatuus-Cosworth at the time.

Updates on the BRDC F3 Car
In order to keep in line with FIA requirements, the Tatuus-Cosworth MSV F4-016 will receive updates before the start of the season to increase the cars safety.
These will include longer, carbon fibre rear impact structure with a slightly modified diffuser, while at the front of the car, a new machined-from-solid anti-intrusion bulkhead will be fitted. The latter will sit between the removable front nose / wing and the front of the chassis.
“BRDC British F3 will be among the first championships in the world to conform to these new FIA directives, ahead of their mandatory implementation amongst other regulation changes in 2019.
“This reaffirms our commitment to teams and drivers to provide them with the highest quality, safest and most up to date machinery possible.” – Giles Butterfield – MSV Group Operations and Engineering Manager.
