British F3 to Stream Sunday Races Live in 2019
The BRDC British F3 Championship will, for the first time under its current format, stream races live. It sees the pair of Sunday races getting coverage on the website and extended Social Media.
This will include the second race, which is a full-reverse of the race one result for all finishers, and the final race of the weekend, which is determined through the fastest lap from race one and two as it has been the last few years.
Speaking at a Press Conference, MSV Chief Exective Jonathan Palmer announced the plan in collaboration with SRO and Hayfisher, who already run the streaming for the British GT Championship who compete on the same weekend.
“For the first time, we’ve now got live TV coverage for the Sunday races. They will all be streamed through [a variety] of sources including on the website. It’s a great step forward for us.
One of the reasons British F3 is successful, perhaps more than any other championship outside of FIA F3, is the fact we work in close collaboration with the teams. We have regular meetings with the teams and it’s their idea. They wanted to have it, we listened and found a way to do it on an affordable basis.” – Jonathan Palmer
The deal sees 16 races, including the Saturday-run races at Spa-Francorchamps, streamed for the first time, with David Addison the commentator. Addison already commentates on the series’ ITV4 Highlights programme, which will continue into the new season.
