British F4: Ginetta Junior Rookie Champ Louis Foster Joins F4 Champions Double R
The F4 British Championship has its seventh driver signing for 2019 with Louis Foster, who last year finished runner-up in the Ginetta Junior championship, joining Double R Racing.
Defending teams and drivers champions Double R won the title largely thanks to Kiern Jewiss, who prior to his step into single-seaters had also been secured the Ginetta Junior rookie crown. Foster will hoping to follow the same path as his fellow MB-Partners sponsored countryman, becoming Double R’s first driver signing. Jewiss himself was recently confirmed for BRDC F3.
The move also means that six teams have confirmed their involvement for the new season, the same as we had all of last year.
He also becomes the third Junior driver to step up to single-seaters after title-rival Luke Browning joined the Richardson Racing squad and Finley Green was confirmed for the returning Carlin squad.

Foster was individually nominated for two Motorsport Awards last year, finishing runner-up in the Young Driver of the Year (16yrs & Under) category.
“I’m delighted to announce I’ll be joining Double R for the 2019 British F4 Championship. The team are proven winners and have all the capability of delivering a championship winning car. Seeing how successful they were last season in F4 and in F3, it fills me with a lot of confidence as I make my debut in single-seaters.
“Making the step from Ginettas to F4 is going to be a tricky one, but I’m confident in my abilities and with the expert guidance of the Double R team there’s no reason we can’t be fighting at the front this season.” – said Louis Foster.
The season gets underway on the 6-7 April at Brands Hatch, with the first test on the 13th March during British F4’s Media Day.
“We were super impressed with his performances in Ginetta Junior last year and have no doubt he’s going to be an incredibly competitive driver in his first season in British F4 with us.
“Obviously, last season was fantastic for Double R winning both the British F4 and BRDC British Formula 3 titles and we’re determined to battle every bit as hard again this year. Louis is a great young prospect and we’re delighted he’ll be racing in Double R colours in 2019.” – said Anthony Hieatt (Team Principal).
