BSB: Haslam ‘Happy’ after Knockhill results despite problems
Current British Superbike Championship leader Leon Haslam secured more podium points and a win in his bid to lift that elusive British Superbike champion’s trophy. The JG SpeedFit Kawasaki ace put in a sterling effort throughout the weekend to take his third win at the track.
Haslam’s lead in the championship is now at 74 points over fellow Kawasaki rider, Jake Dixon – also a winner at Knockhill. However, Haslam’s lead in the podium points is just 20, which is arguably the bigger focus and the bigger picture as the season rumbles on.
“I’m happy with the result in both races this weekend. We had a few problems in race one with some back-shift issues, which I believe cost us the win. We were still struggling a bit in race two but it was a really good battle so I’m really pleased to have taken another win.
“The team did a great job all weekend once again, we’ve extended our lead in the championship and I can’t wait to get to Brands.”
Haslam goes to Brands Hatch looking to win at the GP circuit for the first time since 2006 and his Airwaves Ducati days.
