BSB: Provisional 2022 calendar announced
The 2022 provisional calendar for the British Superbike Championship has been announced.
The 2022 BSB season will get underway next April, according to the provisional calendar released by the Championship today, 25 September.
Before the start of the season, there will be the usual three preseason tests, the first taking place at Snetterton on 25-27 March. After that, there will be a one-day test at Donington, on the National layout, on 31 March, before a final two-day test on the National layout at Silverstone on 6-7 April.
That final test is two weeks in advance of the start of the season, which will begin on 15-17 April, also at Silverstone National, scene of this season’s Showdown decider.
After Silverstone, there is another one-day test, this time at Oulton Park, in anticipation of round two of the season at the same venue. The test will take place on 21 April, before the second round of the year on 30 April – 2 May.

There will then be two weekends off for BSB, ahead of round three on 20-22 May at Donington National. Round four will see the series head north to Knockhill 17-19 June, before going all the way back south for Brands Hatch GP on 22-24 July, and Thruxton on 12-14 August.
Cadwell Park is back on August Bank Holiday weekend, for round seven on 27-29 August, before round eight at Snetterton on 9-11 September, which will be the final round of the regular season.
The Showdown will begin on 23-25 September at Oulton Park, and its second round will be just one week later on 30 September – 02 October at Donington GP. The final round, hopefully the championship decider, will, as usual, take place at Brands Hatch, two weeks after Donington on 14-16 September.
The calendar so far remains provisional and subject to change, but it is encouraging to have this early announcement, and an indication that the series’ schedule is returning to something representing a pre-pandemic normality.
