BTCC: Bradley Philpot to make debut with Power Maxed at Brands Hatch
Power Maxed Racing have recruited BTCC-newcomer Bradley Philpot for the season finale at Brands Hatch Indy.
The Southampton-born racer has competed in various forms of motorsport throughout his career, and is a proven winner in a front-wheel-drive touring car.
Philpot follows the likes of Rob Austin, Jade Edwards and, most recently, Jess Hawkins as PMR’s substitute driver, having retracted their two car operation for 2020 due to COVID-19.
Starting out in karting, Philpot would soon compete in the Formula Palmer Audi Trophy with the likes of Nick Tandy and Alex Brundle. However, it is in car racing where success came in abundance.
Philpot’s first championship winning season arrived in 2007, when he lifted the title in the Toyota MR2 Challenge with three victories to his name. He would later achieve a class win in the Creventic 24H race at Silverstone with an A3 Peugeot 208 GTi.
Further bragging rights would materialise in the world famous Race of Champions event – 2015’s Celebrity Skills Challenge honours would go Philpot’s way, besting the likes of Sebastian Vettel and Sir Chris Hoy.
However, Bradley’s expertise in the VLN 24 Hours Nürburgring series most appropriately brings him to the British Touring Cars. Behind the wheel of a TCR-spec Peugeot 308 in the VLN3 class, Philpot has been champion for successive seasons in 2018 and 2019, winning 11 of 15 races entered.

Bradley will make his BTCC debut on 14-15 November at Brands Hatch’s Indy layout, where one of four possible drivers will be crowned 2020’s champion.
