BTCC: Micheal Crees splits from BTC Racing
Kent-born racer Michael Crees has parted ways with BTC Racing only a week before the opening round of the 2021 British Touring Car Championship season.
The 37-year-old was due to partake in his third straight BTCC campaign having started with Team HARD. Racing in Volkswagen CC in 2019.
Driving a BTC Racing FK8 Honda Civic Type R last year, Crees scored a joint-career highest finish of ninth at Thruxton, ending the year 17th in the standings. He also bagged the Jack Sears Trophy.
BTC Racing have confirmed that they will announce a replacement driver in the coming days to join forces with Josh Cook and Jade Edwards for 2021.
Steve Dudman, BTC Racing Owner and Team Principal, said:
“On behalf of everyone at BTC Racing, I’d like to take this opportunity to thank Michael for his participation with the team in the British Touring Car Championship. It’s a shame the partnership isn’t continuing, but we wish him well in his future endeavours.”
