Magny Cours to remain on World Superbike calendar until 2022
The Magny Cours circuit in France will continue to be used by the World Superbike championship until 2022, following a new deal that will see the circuit in service for another five years. This will make it one of the longest standing circuits on the WSBK calendar.
WorldSBK Executive Director Daniel Carrera said: “Continuing to visit the French circuit of Magny-Cours was an easy decision to make, and one which will welcome stunning racing action for seasons to come. Hosting a world class event with fantastic facilities, passionate fans and hard-working staff, we look forward to returning to France for the next five seasons.”
Since it’s introduction in 2003, the circuit has seen 16 winners, with only Jonathan Rea, Chaz Davies, Tom Sykes and Marco Melandri winning their from the current field of riders.
The 2018 French WSBK round will take place on 28th-30th of September, with tickets yet to go on sale.
