MotoE: Tulovic claims maiden win in Austria as title fight tightens
Lukas Tulovic (Tech 3 E-Racing) bagged his maiden MotoE victory at the Red Bull Ring in Austria. The Tech 3 rider claimed P1 at the lights and never let go of the position to cross the line with an eight tenths advantage.
Eric Granado (One Energy Racing) prevailed in a last lap scrap to claim runner-up. Behind him, Dominique Aegerter (Dynavolt Intact GP) beat Fermín Aldeguer (OpenBank Aspar Team) at the penultimate corner to secure the final podium spot.
Alessandro Zaccone (Octo Pramac MotoE) continues to lead the table standings, but Granado now sits only seven points behind. Last season’s protagonists Jordi Torres (HP Pons 40) and Aegerter are third and fourth with a deficit of eight and eleven points respectively.

Tulovic stole the holeshot from polesitter Aldeguer as the lights went out. He immediately edged out an advantage while Aldeguer was shuffled back into sixth.
Xavi Cardelus (Avintia Esponsorama Racing) led the charge closely shadowed by Aegerter who swiftly beat him to the position. Granado was the rider on pace and quickly picked his way up the order to join the chasing group.
With two laps remaining, Tulovic had escaped into the distance while a trio of Aegerter, Aldeguer and Granado was in the hunt and determined to close the gap back down. They took huge chunks out of the leader, but as they engaged in battle between themselves, Tulovic stayed clear.
The German rider comfortably stormed to his maiden MotoE victory, but the fight for podium spots was far from over. A lunge down the inside had Granado from fourth to second and he did not let go of the position. Aegerter barged his way past Aldeguer at the penultimate corner to bag the final podium spot.
