MotoE: Mike Di Meglio Continues with Estrella Galicia
Mike Di Meglio will continue into the second season of the MotoE World Cup as the Frenchman is set to continue with the Estrella Galicia 0,0 Marc VDS team.
In the inaugural season of the MotoE World Cup, Di Meglio was a consistent front runner, standing on the podium in the first two races.
Di Meglio stood on the top step in the second round of the season at Austria before suffering a mechanical problem in the first of the two races in Misano, resulting in a turn in the 31-year-old’s performance.
The former 125cc World Champion ended the 2019 season in 5th overall and will be back in 2020 to launch another title attack.
Di Meglio will also continue to ride in the World Endurance Championship alongside the Electric series.
“I am very happy to be able to continue one more year in Team Estrella Galicia 0,0 Marc VDS. 2019 has been a year of ups and downs.
“We started very well, but the falls in Misano slowed our progression and limited our chances of fighting for the title. MotoE are very short races in a very short championship, so there is no room for error.
“This first year has been one of learning and we have acquired experience that will be very useful for us to fight again for the title. In addition, I am sure that both the bikes and the tyres will evolve for next year and it will be very interesting to be able to live it in the first person.” – Mike Di Meglio
The MotoE World Championship sees a new championship order for 2020, starting in Jerez at the start of May.
