MotoGP: British GP controversially called off after 5 hour delay
The British MotoGP event at Silverstone has been called in a controversial fashion after a four and half hour delay that saw the Northamptonshire circuit suffer the nasty side of the British weather – which until the event had been very good indeed.
With the MotoGP event cancelled and all remaining support races suffering the same fate, the hardy British fans – of which 10,000 camped at the Woodlands campsite – will see no action until the Grand Prix of San Marino in two weeks time.
Heavy rescheduling had taken place to try and avoid the adverse weather but despite this, no racing will be taking place. In a democratic decision by the riders, an effective mob-rule outnumbered Johann Zarco and Jack Miller – the only two riders willing to race.
