MotoGP: Feature: 5 MUST-DO trips whilst at the San Marino GP
Experience Cattolica!
Cattolica is – normally – just another seaside town of Italy, with Italian tourists heading there for beach holidays. However, when the Grand Prix boys are in town, you are in for one very special treat! From 6 til 10, thousands of people come out, from groups of young adults to families with kids. Do not think you can get a seat at any of the main restaurants on the strip – including the one with the Valentino Rossi theme! It is absolutely incredible to be a part of the crazy atmosphere down in Cattolica. Shops will display some of Rossi’s best races on a TV screen and some of his weirdest merchandise, from baby grows to shoes and mini statues of the man himself.
The food in Cattolica is also amazing, as well as the people. Frankie’s Bar near the bottom end of the strip is cheap and good, especially if you like alcohol! For food, I’d recommend Racket Bar right at the very top of the pedestrian area, where Sky Sports MotoGP is shown endlessly all day and night and the food is also amazing. You’ll meet friends that will become friends for life and make memories that will have you laughing for years to come. There’s something special about the area. There’s also a great deal of Marco Simoncelli merchandise too, so-much-so that you’d think he was still racing – another weird sensation that Cattolica offers.
