MotoGP: Number 46 to be retired at Italian Grand Prix
Valentino Rossi’s iconic number 46 will be retired from use in the MotoGP paddock at Mugello. In two weeks a ceremony will be held to remove the number from use at the Autodromo Internazionale del Mugello. The ceremony will take place on Saturday afternoon on the start-finish straight at the Italian circuit.
Six months after Rossi retired from MotoGP the number associated with him will join him in retirement.
MotoGP wish to honour the nine time world champion by removing his historic number from use. This means Rossi’s #46 will join a prestigious list with Kevin Schwantz’s #34, Nicky Hayden’s #69 and many more.
