BSB: Rich Energy Continue to Sponsor OMG Racing Yamaha
On the 17th of July ‘Rich Energy HQ’ tweeted stating that their agreement with OMG Racing was at an end. This understandably took fans by surprise as OMG Racing Yamaha riders sit 1st and 5th in the British Superbike championship.
To end sponsorship with a team that has shown great success so far in 2022 was a shock. But the reason that was given by Rich Energy in their statement was: “Rich Energy is expanding its portfolio in many spheres including sport.”
This explanation as to why the deal had ended confused fans further. A team that has a rider leading the BSB Championship should allow for an expanded portfolio.
However, today (20th of July) ‘Rich Energy OMG Racing Yamaha’ Tweeted a statement about their partnership with Rich Energy. The team stated how “Rich Energy OMG Racing is not, and has never been, sponsored by the Rich Energy brand owners.”
In fact the Rich Energy OMG Racing Team is sponsored by RichOMG Limited. The statement goes on to read: “This sponsorship agreement was established in March 2020 ahead of the 2020 BSB season and remains firmly in place at this time.”
The Rich Energy OMG Racing Yamaha Team still has their title sponsor on board.
British Superbikes return to action this weekend at Brands Hatch. Where Rich Energy OMG Racing Yamaha rider, Brad Ray, will aim to extend his championship lead.
