Road Racing: Dominic Herbertson joins RK Racing
Dominic Herbertson joins Burrows Engineering by RK Racing for the 2024 road racing season.
Dominic Herbertson has signed for RK Racing for 2024 and replaces the outgoing Mike Browne. He will ride the team’s BMW M 1000 RR in the Superbike, Superstock, and Senior TT’s. He will then ride RK Racing’s Yamaha R6 in the Supersport races and will ride in the Supertwin TT.
The 32-year-old joins the team, run by former Isle of Man TT Road racer, John Burrows. RK Racing have signed many established riders before, such as Davey Todd, Dan Kneen, and Mike Browne, who began their careers with the team.
Dominic Herbertson made his Isle of Man TT debt in 2014 and gained a huge following online. Herbertson has finished inside the top 10 twelve times at the TT, with nine of those coming last year.
Last year, he claimed his best finish at the Isle of Man, finishing seventh in the Supertwin TT. Herbertson also broke the iconic 130mph barrier last year and set a 125mph lap in the Supersport class.
After some pre-season testing in Spain, Herbertson is expected to start his 2024 campaign by taking part in the opening British Supersport round in April.
“Different approach” for 2024

John Burrows, Burrows Engineering by RK Racing Team Owner: “When Mike left, the cards were back on the table in terms of what direction to go in. We’ve become known as a team that brings younger riders into road racing, enabling them to find their feet and then, hopefully, move onto bigger and better things.
“Whilst that’s a nice challenge, it’s also a difficult one, especially with attracting sponsors and the like. It felt as though the time was right to try a different approach and, in Dom, we’ve got an experienced guy with proven ability who we want to help get further up the sharp end.
“Dom’s ridden for us before, winning the Supersport Race at Tandragee in 2022 in a one-off ride, so we got chatting. He’s done the hard yards in racing, doing a lot of it on his own so he appreciates what he’s got. He knows us and we know him, so things soon fell into place.”
