Road Racing: TAS Racing signs Davey Todd for the 2024 TT
Davey Todd has signed for TAS Racing for the final two rounds of BSB and the 2024 Isle of Man TT.
Davey Todd will return to the British Superbike Championship at Donington Park after signing for TAS Racing. Todd will ride the BMW M 1000 RR at the 2024 Isle of Man TT Races in the RST Superbike, RL360 Superstock, and Milwaukee Senior Races.
Davey Todd will also make his debut with the factory BMW Motorrad World Endurance Team before the end of the season. After the latest round in Suzuka, the BMW Motorrad World Endurance Team is third in the standings.
The reigning British Superstock Champion previously raced for the Padgetts Motorcycles team, experiencing great success. Todd raced for Padgetts for two seasons and took his first TT podium in 2022 with the team.
Davey Todd was unable to add to his podium tally in 2023, with the 27-year-old improving his personal best lap time. Todd set an average speed of 132.982mph, becoming the sixth-fastest rider of all time.
He will join Milwaukee BMW Motorrad – run by the historic TAS Racing team who were absent from the TT for the first time in 23 years. In 23 years, TAS Racing has taken 18 TT race victories and 44 podiums.
Todd said: “I’m really excited to be joining TAS Racing and the Milwaukee BMW team, and to start with them on the BSB grid for the final two rounds is superb.
“The team has had a lot of success over the years on the roads, and having spent some time with the boys already I know I have a top group of people around me and an equally great package in the Milwaukee BMW M 1000 RR.”
Speaking of the news, Philip Neill, Milwaukee BMW Motorrad Team Principal, said: “Due to unavoidable circumstances, we missed our first TT for 23 years this year and this allowed us to really appreciate what we have in the TT.
“Both my father and I are looking forward to having TAS Racing back on the IOM in 2024 and we are especially pleased to continue our relationship with Milwaukee and BMW Motorrad who each provide unrivalled support for our efforts. Davey is one of the most exciting prospects in racing.
“We are extremely happy that he will join us for 2024 and we can’t wait to get started with our preparations.”
