Six Formula E Races in Nine Days in Berlin
Season six of the ABB FIA Formula E Championship will conclude with six races at Berlin’s Tempelhof Airport in August.
There will be three double-header events with each double-header using a different track configuration.
They will take place on 5-6 August, 8-9 August and 12-13 August with different start times to add another element to the already unusual prospect.
Races will be held behind closed doors and only essential staff will attend so that Formula E can adhere to the 1000 personnel limit.
Series CEO Jamie Reigle said: “Since taking action to suspend our season in March, we have emphasised a revised calendar which places the health and safety of our community first, represents Formula E’s distinct brand of city centre racing and offers an exciting conclusion to the compelling season of racing we had seen so far.
“We are heading to Berlin Tempelhof, a venue that our teams, drivers and fans love, to stage a nine-day festival of racing with three back-to-back double-headers.
“The festival will feature three track layouts, presenting a new challenge and creating the conditions for an unpredictable and drama-filled climax to our season.”
This announcement means Audi will have to quickly find a replacement for Daniel Abt, who had his contract terminated following an ESports race, as will Mahinda for Pascal Wehrlein.
Antonio Felix Da Costa leads the championship by 11 points over Mitch Evans in what should be an exciting conclusion to the season.
