
Watch: Goodwood Revival 2021
Settle down as some of the most valuable, classic machines take to the Goodwood race track in a weekend celebration of all things retro.
A selection of cars and bikes from the 20s through to the 80s take part in themed races, as well as parades, which will lead to 3 days of exciting action. The vehicles themselves will be driven by some of the greatest living racers, with hundreds of titles between them. Drivers such as Jensen Button, Jason Plato and Martin Brundle will race cars worth in excess of £1 million
On Friday, the highlight of the day is the Sterling Moss Memorial Trophy, with GT cars from the 60’s parading around the West Sussex countryside. Be prepared to see the best in Jaguar E-Types, Ferrari 250 SWBs, Aston Martin DB4s and much more.
For Saturday, the main action gets underway, with the Goodwood Trophy being renamed the Festival of Britain Trophy for 2021 to celebrate 70 years since the first Festival of Britain on London’s South Bank. While the St. Mary’s Trophy will see Saloon Cars from the 50’s hurtling around with some of the top names in motorsport present.
Saturday will also feature the John Whitmore Trophy, for those fascinated by Mini’s, with the Barry Sheene Memorial Trophy also in display for those who prefer two wheels. The action will conclude on Saturday with one of the most glamorous events of the weekend, the Sussex Trophy, highlighting 1950’s Sportscars from the Jaguar D-Types to the Listers and Coopers.
For Sunday, the action does not let up with the Chichester Cup showcasing front-engined Formula Juniors. Single seater action will continue later the day as the Maserati 250Fs, Lotus 16, BRM Type 25 and others come out to play for the Richmond Trophy. Rounding our Grand Prix action will be the Legendary Glover Trophy that features 1.5L Grand Prix cars from 1961 to ’65, ironically making it one of the most modern events on the bill.
Second races for the Barry Sheene Memorial and St. Mary’s Trophy will only look to build up the hype for the Blue Ribbon event of the weekend, the Royal Automobile Club TT Celebration. A one hour race of the finest closed-cockpit GT cars of the 50s. Two drivers will be needed each car with celebrities and special guest flooding the VIP stands and beautiful green embankments.
Rounding up the proceedings, the Freddie March Memorial Trophy will ensure that there’s plenty to catch on this famous weekend of racing.
