WorldSBK: 2021 Calendar announced
The 2021 FIM World Superbike calendar has been released and it has some massive changes in store.
The season will be made up of 12 rounds with the final round yet to be announced. The majority of the season will take place on European soil with only 2 of the eleven rounds announced being outside of Europe.
WorldSBK 2021 will start at the iconic Assen TT Circuit, with the usual first venue of Philip Island not featuring on the calendar at all.
The Argentinian San Juan circuit will return to the WorldSBK calendar in 2021, with the Indonesian Mandalika Circuit welcoming both WorldSBK and MotoGP for the first time (subject to circuit homologation by the FIM).
The British round at Donington Park makes its return to the calendar after its absence in 2020. The round will however go ahead with the absence of the support classes, WorldSSP and WorldSSP300, with only the Superbike class coming to the UK.
Both Barcelona and Estoril remain on the calendar from 2020 after WorldSBK went to Catalunya for the first time in 2020, and returned to Estoril after 27 years. After hosting the final round of 2020, Estoril is set to be Round 2 of the 2021 WorldSBK championship, subject to contractual agreement.
