
WorldSBK: Razgatlioglu dominates Sunday action at Most
Toprak Razgatlioglu cemented his title challenge today at Most. The Turkish rider claimed victory in both the Superpole Race and Race Two. In the Superpole Race Razgatlioglu created history as he won Yamaha’s 100th World Superbike race.
Superpole Race:
On Sunday morning in the short Superpole Race 2020 Championship rivals, Rea and Razgatlioglu fought for victory. The Northern Irish rider did not make it easy for Razgatlioglu and on the last lap made an ambitious move. Rea ended up in the gravel and settling for second as Razgatlioglu claimed victory.
Alvaro Bautista did not have the pace to stay with the Yamaha and Kawasaki and could only manage third place. Two more Ducati riders rounded out the top five as Michael Ruben Rinaldi and Axel Bassani finished fourth and fifth.
Scott Redding could not hit his race one heights in Superpole. The BMW rider had a poor started and was down in 14th. The British rider dug deep and made his way back up to eighth place.

Race Two:
The final race of the weekend saw the three Championship contenders scrapping for the race win.
Bautista, Razgatlioglu and Rea all lead the race throughout the 22 laps. However, it was the Yamaha rider of Razgatlioglu who was victorious once again. The Ducati rider of Bautista finished runner up and Kawasaki’s Rea finished in third. This victory claimed Razgatlioglu’s 24th World Superbike race win and his sixth win of the 2022 season.
Behind the front three Redding and Bassani had a titanic tussle for fourth. The BMW and Ducati riders were not shy in their duel against each other. The British and Italian rider were both better in different areas of the track and young Bassani was determined to stamp his mark. But the experience of Redding showed as he was able to claim fourth place.
